Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a synthetic peptide developed based on the naturally occurring glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), an incretin hormone that regulates insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner.^1-3 As a GLP-1 receptor agonist and analog, semaglutide was developed specifically to have an extended half-life (compared to native GLP-1) while maintaining potency and activity.²
